THE ARTICLES in Alemannic

Generally speaking, these are the forms of the articles in most Alemannic dialects. Bare in mind, though, that other options may be used.

Masculine Feminine Neuter
Singular de(r) d / di (d)s
Plural d / di d / di d / di
  1. Generally, Di is used when the noun is preceded by an adjective.

 

EXAMPLES:

ds Chind / s Chind – The child

d Frou – the woman

di schöni Frou – the beautiful woman

de Maa / der Maa – The man
